Music in the Grove (Música en la Floresta)
In this work, the master Constantino Laura transports us to a magical corner of the Andean world, where the melody of a flute blends with the whisper of nature. A central figure, adorned with a traditional hat, becomes the bridge between the human and the divine, while his notes seem to bring the surrounding environment to life.
Duality is the soul of the composition. The musician’s face is divided into shades of light and shadow, representing the balance between day and night. At his side, two white birds rest peacefully, drawn by the sound, symbolizing peace and a pure connection with the animal kingdom. The landscape breaks down into vibrant planes: on the right, the freshness of the forest’s greens and blues; on the left, the warmth of the ochres and reds of the illuminated earth.
Every thread in this piece has been placed with the intention of creating a visual rhythm. The reliefs and textures give shape to the trees and the small houses in the background, creating a three-dimensionality that invites the viewer to lose themselves in this forest of sound. It is a work that celebrates rural life, music as a universal language, and the beauty of the Peruvian landscape.
