"Mama Killa" means "Mother Moon" in quechua, the language of the Incas, that is still spoken on andean regions of South America, mainly in Peru and Bolivia.

“Mama Killa” evokes the sacred and the feminine through a profoundly symbolic and poetic image. The serene central figure holds the moon (killa) in a gesture of maternal protection and spiritual connection, reaffirmed by the butterfly which in Andean cosmology represents the sacred messenger between the living ones and their ancestrals. Waves of deep blues, luminous turquoises, and ethereal greens envelop the scene, creating a nocturnal and immersive atmosphere that suggests cycles, time, and renewal. Warm accents of gold, magenta, and orange add contrast and vitality, while the texture of the fabric reveals meticulous craftsmanship, rich in nuances and carefully achieved chromatic transitions.

"Your resolute gaze,
mighty river,
carries
timid desires,
tearing down walls
where they nest,
dreams fluttering
between your breasts
to alight
on your lips."
- Constantino Laura
